Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 July 2026
This privacy policy explains how personal data is collected and used when you visit kadirkeles.com. Personal data is any information that can be related to you as an individual.
1. Controller
The party responsible for data processing on this website is:
Kadir Keleş
Neuköllnische Allee 80
12057 Berlin, Germany
Email: kk@kadirkeles.com
2. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to: access your data; have inaccurate data corrected; request erasure (where no legal retention obligation applies); request restriction of processing; receive your data in a portable format; object to processing based on legitimate interests; and withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.
To exercise any of these rights, contact me at the email above.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The authority responsible for Berlin is:
Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit (BlnBDI)
https://www.datenschutz-berlin.de
3. Hosting and server log files
This site is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in a data-center region within the European Union. When you visit the site, the server automatically collects and stores information that your browser transmits, in server log files:
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Referrer URL
- IP address of the requesting device
- Date and time of the request
This data is not merged with other data sources and is used only for the technically error-free operation and security of the site. Processing is based on my legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). A data processing agreement (Auftragsverarbeitungsvertrag) is in place with AWS, and AWS provides EU Standard Contractual Clauses covering any theoretical third-country access.
4. Content delivery network (AWS CloudFront)
To deliver content quickly and securely, this site uses Amazon CloudFront, a content delivery network operated by AWS. When you load a page, files may be served from a CloudFront edge server, which processes your IP address to deliver the requested content. This is based on my legitimate interest in fast, secure delivery (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and is covered by the AWS data processing agreement and Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. SSL/TLS encryption
This site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the "https://" prefix and the lock icon in your browser's address bar.
6. Cookies
This site uses only cookies that are strictly necessary for its basic functions (for example, to process a comment you submit). No analytics, tracking, or advertising cookies are used. Strictly necessary cookies are set on the basis of my legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can configure your browser to refuse or delete cookies.
7. Web fonts (Google Fonts)
This site currently loads fonts from Google Fonts, provided by Google Ireland Limited. When a page loads, your browser connects to Google's servers to retrieve the fonts, and in doing so transmits your IP address to Google, which may process it on servers outside the EU under EU Standard Contractual Clauses. The purpose is the uniform display of fonts. See Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
8. Contact (email and contact form)
If you contact me by email or via the contact form, the data you provide (such as your name, email address, and message) is stored so I can process your enquiry. This is based on my legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The data is deleted once it is no longer needed and no legal retention period applies.
9. Comments
When you post a comment, the comment itself and the metadata you provide (such as name and email address), together with the time of submission, are stored. Your IP address may also be stored to help defend against spam and abuse. This processing is based on my legitimate interest in a functioning, spam-free comment section (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Comment data remains stored until you request deletion or I remove the comment.
10. Newsletter
If you subscribe to the newsletter, the email address you provide is used solely to send the newsletter, based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Subscription uses a double opt-in process: you receive a confirmation email and are only added after you confirm. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email, which withdraws your consent for the future.
11. Data retention
Personal data is stored only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above or as required by statutory retention obligations. Once the purpose ceases and no retention period applies, the data is deleted.
12. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the site or the legal situation. The current version always applies; the date at the top shows when it was last revised.
